Margaret Grady, MSN, RN, APN-C, Administrative Director of Nursing, Psychiatry & Co-Director of the Debra Simon Center for Integrative Behavioral Health and Wellness


Ms. Margaret Grady’s early nursing career focused on Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Open Heart Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Rehabilitation. After working in the field for more than 20 years, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree in Adult Psychology and was credentialed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner.  
In her initial role as administrative director of Nursing, Ms. Grady had oversight of several inpatient specialty units including: Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical, Diabetes, Neurology/Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Oncology and both inpatient and outpatient Psychiatric Departments. In 2014, she returned to the Department of Psychiatry as co-director of The Debra Simon Center for Integrative Behavioral Health and Wellness and continued oversight of inpatient psychiatry. In her advanced practice role, Ms. Grady’s expertise is utilized for patients with a behavioral health diagnosis, including both pediatric and adult emergency departments. She provides consultation in management, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions; as well as compliance standards for The Joint Commission, state regulations, and/or Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). 
Ms. Grady’s APN role also includes design of the orientation program for the behavioral health unit, oversight and education for specific indicators for The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification (DSC) in Depression, and concurrent and retrospective review of cases for quality and safety issues. In addition, she collaborates with nursing education for annual and ongoing behavioral health education opportunities as well as treating patients at the Wellness Center. As a facilitator of Schwartz Center Rounds, she participates in creating a forum where clinical staff can evaluate the emotional impact of their daily activities. Ms. Grady is also widely-published and an experienced presenter. She is a member of the following professional organizations: the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine. She holds the following certifications: ANCC Certification in Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine Certification in Integrative Health Administration.
