Nursing Leadership


Judy Miranda Rankin, DNP, RN

 

Dr. Judy Miranda Rankin is a results-driven, strategic and accomplished nursing executive with over 20 years of experience blending leadership, clinical knowledge and business acumen to achieve results. She is a resourceful leader, adept at building a collaborative relationship with all team members, while improving systems and processes within a fast-paced healthcare environment.  Dr. Miranda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College, a Master’s Degree in the Nurse Practitioner program from Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University.  She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Prior to joining Hackensack University Medical Center, she was Chief Nursing Officer at Mount Sinai West, New York and was responsible for operations in the department of nursing and patient care services.  Previous to her role as chief nursing officer she directed nursing practice and operations as the nursing director for the inpatient abdominal transplant program, transplant ambulatory unit, transplant coordinators, medicine/oncology, advanced nurse practice, rehabilitation unit, and GP West at the Mount Sinai Hospital.  Dr. Miranda also, served as the nursing leader and educator for the sepsis program. In addition, she co-chaired the Global Nursing Leadership Academy program with the chief nursing officer of the Mount Sinai, Hospital.  She was a member of Mount Sinai’s Magnet Steering committee for their 2nd and 3rd Magnet designations.  She represented nursing leadership with Information technology related to Vocera, GE Optimization – patient flow and radio frequency identification technology.  She worked closely with industrial engineers in improving nursing staff workflow.  Dr. Miranda co-chaired the Patient Satisfaction Steering Committee at both institutions and focused on delivering an enhanced patient experience.
