2016 HCAHPS Hospital Rating

Congratulations to our HCAHPS top performers showing how far we have come!


Our Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey shows us how well we are performing from a patients’ perspective.  Above, patients were questioned on their overall rating of the hospital.  HackensackUMC reports on the responses of “Always.”  With a goal of being in the 83 percentile rank of the surveys completed for each unit, over 60% of our units reached the goal!

Below is the comparison of the CMS Star Rating of the hospitals in the Hackensack Meridian Health System.  Our goal is to achieve the 5 Star Rating.



HCAHPS - Comparison by Quarter (Inpatient Units)

Below are the HCAHPS results for the 2016 plan year.  In the 2016 plan year, the Composite Top Box Score for the year came in at 73.8.  That's a 5% improvement from the baseline of 72.5!

The trend in the Composite Score shows continuous improvement.  Note the black trend line since Q2 of 2013.



HCAHPS - Comparison by Quarter (Inpatient Units)

This scorecard shows that eight of the 10 dimensions demonstrated improvement for 2016.  However, Quietness and Pain Management declined.
